Steps for Choosing a Major

An academic major may be linked to a person's interest, or it may be linked to the career or job that a person wants to pursue. Therefore, learning about "What can I do with a Major in..." should be explored. Take these steps to choose a major.

Academic majors are often linked to specific jobs or career areas. It is important to find out what job opportunities are available. Any one of the sites below can provide good suggestions about "What can I do with a major in..."

Visit the Career & Transfer Resource Center and use the resources/guides and college catalogs for specific information about choosing a major.

By using the Course Comparison Worksheet, courses are chosen that fulfill the major of choice and the general education requirements before transferrring to a 4-year college.

Make an appointment with a career counselor and take the steps that are specific to Choosing a Major.
