DMACC Men and Women in Preseason Polls
The preseason basketball polls are out for both men and women and DMACC is represented in both polls. The DMACC Men which finish last seasons National Tournament run in eighth place will start the season fourth according to the NJCAA. Defending champion Mott starts the season as number one. Other ICCAC Schools in the poll include: Kirkwood at 13th and Iowa Central is receiving votes. Sophomore point guard Grant Burns receives preseason all-American accolades as he was named to the Preseason First Team. Grant is the current single season record holder in assists (271) and steals (99).
The DMACC Women also begin the season in the top ten as start out at number 10. DMACC ended last season with the second most wins in school history with a 25-6 record and was a Region XI Finalist. Kankakee out of Illinois begins the season as number one. Fellow ICCAC rival and defending national champion Kirkwood begins the season at number six. Both Iowa Lakes and Marshalltown are receiving votes in the preseason polls.
