In 2008, Umble was a Class 2A Honorable Mention All-State selection, a unanimous First Team All-District Selection and a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection.
Umble was a team captain who established team records with a .412 kill efficiency and 290 kills for the season.
In 2007, Umble was a First Team All-Conference selection who led her team to a Heart of Iowa Conference Championship. In her junior year, Umble had the highest kill efficiency in the conference (.314).
“We are looking forward to having Kali on the team,” said DMACC Head Volleyball Coach Patty Harrison. “She will be an asset to the team, especially with her leaping ability and kill efficiency rating.”
Umble joins the Bears, who have advanced to the National Junior College
Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Volleyball Tournament
for the past three consecutive years. The Bears finished eighth in the national
tournament and had a 41-9 overall record in 2008.
