DMACC Volleyball Players Earn Postseason Honors
Six DMACC volleyball players have earned postseason recognition for their play during the 2011 season.

Freshman Roxanne Grundmeier of Schaller was named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) first team and freshman Olivia Fisher of Janesville garnered second-team honors. Freshmen Amanda Lampman of Lake Mills, Hallie Peterson of Sheffield, Taylor Salisbury of Chatfield, Minn., and Mia Pierson of Ames received honorable mention recognition.
Grundmeier and Fisher were also named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI-A first team with Lampman and Salisbury earning second-team honors.
Grundmeier led the Bears in kills with 479. She also had 30 ace serves, 61 blocks and 585 digs. Fisher finished the season with 393 kills, 41 ace serves, 31 blocks and 517 digs.
Lampman had 192 kills on the year and led DMACC with a .361 hitting percentage. She finished the season with 108 blocks and 136 digs. Peterson hit .294 for the season. She had 268 kills and 66 blocks. Pierson contributed 249 kills and a .265 hitting percentage. She also had a team-high 119 blocks.
Salisbury, the Bears’ defensive specialist, topped the team in digs with 722 and also led the way in service aces with 44.
DMACC finished the season at 28-15 overall and 6-2 in the ICCAC, finishing fourth in the league standings. The Bears reached the NJCACC Region IX-A championship match where they lost to Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC).
