Fisher to Play Volleyball at DMACC

April 18, 2011

Taylor Salisbury Janesville High School senior Olivia Fisher has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball for the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Bears.

Fisher was an Iowa Star Conference Honorable Mention as a freshman and then was a First Team All-Conference selection as a sophomore, junior and senior. During her senior year, Fisher was the 2010 Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association First Team All-State Selection and a Class 1A and All-State Tournament Team Player.

In addition, she helped lead Janesville to the runner-up position in the Class 1A State Volleyball Tournament.

“Olivia has shown her leadership skills at the high school level and we’re counting on those same skills to help us at the collegiate level.” said DMACC Head Volleyball Coach Patty Harrison.

Fisher joins the Bears, who have advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Volleyball Tournament four of the last five years. The Bears had a 26-15 overall record in 2010.
