Former DMACC women’s basketball standout Jocelyn Anderson is returning to DMACC, this time as an assistant coach to head women’s basketball coach Steve Krafcisin.
Anderson, who played two years for the Bears from 2005-2007, was selected to the Division II Junior College All-America second team in both her freshman and sophomore seasons after leading DMACC in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots and a place in the Regional Tournament finals her second year. The Gowrie native then transferred to Iowa State University where, after only two seasons, she finished her career as the Cyclones’ fourth all-time career shot blocker. Anderson was a member of the Cyclone women’s basketball team that advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament in 2009. She also earned her degree in finance from Iowa State, graduating in 2009.
“I am delighted that Jocelyn is back with us at DMACC,” says Krafcisin. “She is living proof that the recipe for success can be found right here at DMACC. Jocelyn is an excellent role model for our young ladies and she will shine in all aspects of this position.”
This past year, Anderson has been an assistant women’s basketball coach with the All Iowa Attack Basketball program while working as a loan specialist for Wells Fargo Financial.
