Dani Lang signs to play Basketball at DMACC

Ankeny High School Basketball player Dani Lang has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Boone Bears.

Lang is a 6’ 0” forward who was a first team All-Central Iowa Metro League (CIML) selection, a second team All-State selection from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and a third team All-State selection from the Des Moines Register. In addition, she was named to the All-District First Team and All-Region First Team from the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.

Lang, who averaged 10.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, helped Ankeny to a 19-3 record during her senior season and into the regional finals. She was named her team’s most valuable offensive player and received the E. Wayne Cooley “You Can” Award sponsored by the Iowa National Guard for demonstrating great character and leadership.

“We are excited to have Dani join our basketball team,” said DMACC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Steve Krafcisin. “She is a very good basketball player who will get even better because of her work ethic, physical attributes, basketball skills, great family support and basketball knowledge.”

Krafcisin said Lang played under Ankeny High School Coach Scott DeJong, who has won nine state championships and 21 state appearances.
“Dani comes from an outstanding high school program that is so successful in arguably the toughest conference in the state,” said Krafcisin. “It means a great deal for a gifted young lady from our area to choose DMACC to continue her basketball and academic career.”
