About the DMACC Alumni Association
The DMACC Alumni Association now numbers over 22,000 alumni. Since its founding in 1981, active paid memberships are nearing 500. Another 103 are lifetime members. The Association is governed by the Alumni Board composed of 15 to 20 alumni who give their time and expertise to organize activities and promote the various goals and objectives of the Association. The board plans and carries out alumni activites such as:
- The annual DMACC Alumni Challenge Un-Phonathon
- Outstanding student leader and alumni recognition events
- Trips like the Indy 500, Michigan 400, Texas 500, Chicago Cubs baseball and more...
Career opportunities abound today, but only for those with a good education and state-of-the-art training. Since 1966, DMACC has provided thousands of students with a quality education and numerous opportunities relating to both their educational and professional careers. As thousands more arrive each semester, over 70% must rely on some sort of financial aid.
One of the primary goals of the Alumni Board is to provide the financial help students may need to attain the education necessary for happy, productive lives. The board relies on alumni who have benefited from DMACC's educational offerings to help provide this assistance to those less fortunate.
Annually, the Alumni Association raises and distributes scholarship aid to students. Since 1981, the generosity of DMACC alumni has helped over 400 students with financial awards ranging from $200 to $1,000.
