DMACC Court Mandated Classes
Offender Classes

DMACC offers several offender classes as a result of court orders through the criminal justice system.

First Time Offender
Length of Class: 9 hours
Location: 910 Washington, Des Moines
Cost: $70

This class is designed for the offender who is in the criminal justice system for the first time, or who has a minor criminal background.  The broad scope of this program faces the issues most commonly encountered by the first time offender.  It helps them understand how to avoid negative influences, handle stress and take responsibility for themselves.  It will help them develop the necessary skills that will enable them to make positive changes in their lives.

Repeat Offender
Length of Class: 12 hours
Location: 910 Washington, Des Moines
Cost: $85

This class is designed for the offender who has been involved several times with the criminal justice system.

Assaultive Behavior
Length of Class: 9 hours
Location: 910 Washington, Des Moines
Cost: $70

This class is designed for individuals who are assaultive and/or who need to learn self-control.  The class helps individuals overcome skill responsibilities, interpersonal relationships, abuse of alcohol and drugs, and stress management.

License Under Suspension
Length of Class: 9 hours
Location: 910 Washington, Des Moines
Cost: $70

The class is designed for individuals who have lost their driving privileges and are arrested for Driving While License Under Suspension.

How to Register
Participants must register with DMACC in advance of the class by calling 515-964-6385, between the hours of 8 am and 4:00 pm.  They will be given the date, time and location of the class.  Payment may be made at the start of the class with a money order made out to DMACC - NO CASH.  A letter of successful completion will be given to the student at the end of the class.
