HEALTH SCIENCE CLASSROOM BUILDING » View webcam
58,500 SF 3-story building on the Ankeny Campus.  The expansion will include the following programs and spaces:

• Student Health Center
• Pharmacy Technology (potential new program)
• Respiratory Therapy
• Medical Lab Technician
• EMT
• Medical Assistant
• CNA
• Nursing
• Dietary Manager
• Aging Services Management
• Health Information Technology (potential new program)
• Optometric Technician (potential new program)
• Physical Therapy Assistant (potential new program)
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (potential new program)
• Computer Lab
• General Classrooms

The total project budget is $9,034,318.  DLR Group out of Des Moines is the Architect for this project.  Frank Baxter General Contractors, Inc., out of Des Moines, is the general contractor for the project and has commenced construction in late September of 2007 and is scheduled to be completed on or before May 8th 2009.

FFA BUILDING
FFA has partnered with DMACC to build a 57,000 SF 2-story building on the Ankeny Campus (17-acre portion of the former Iowa State University research farm now near the southwest side of the new Prairie Trails development.  DMACC has donated the land and will be responsible for maintaining the facility and in return will have some dedicated classroom space and some shared use space.  The expansion will include:

• FFA Classrooms and Laboratories
• 8,000 SF Exhibit Hall
• FFA staff offices
• Greenhouses
• Large Conferencing Center designed for 450 people
• DMACC Veterinary Technician program
• DMACC Horticulture programs
• DMACC Agriculture programs

The total proposed project budget is estimated between $10-$13 million.  The FFA has hired Walker Architects, out of Des Moines, to be the Architect and the Weitz Company to be the Construction Manager for the project.  The project commenced in late September of 2007 and is scheduled to be completed by January of 2009.

BUILDING #5 DOCK EXPANSION & REMODEL

925 SF expansion to the B#5 dock on the Ankeny Campus.  The project also includes some minor remodeling to the existing dock and central receiving area.

The total project budget is $249,900.  DLR Group out of Des Moines is the Architect for this project.  Russell Construction, out of Des Moines, is the general contractor for the project and has commenced construction in late September of 2007 and is scheduled to be completed in January of 2008.
