Application for Graduation & Commencement

Candidates for graduation must complete an application for graduation in order to receive their diploma. Students who do not complete requirements for graduation in the term for which they applied must submit a new application. Students who plan to participate in one of the annual commencement ceremonies must indicate their intent on the application for graduation. There is no graduation fee. Students who plan to receive more than one degree, diploma or certificate need to complete a graduation application for each program.

Candidates for graduation should submit their applications to the credentials/graduation office at the Ankeny Campus or the Student Services Office at the other DMACC campuses by the following dates:

Fall October 1
Spring February 1
Summer February 1*
Summer June 1

*if student plans to participate in the Annual Commencement Ceremonies

Students who graduate at the end of Fall, Spring and Summer terms are invited to participate in the annual commencement ceremonies in May. Participation in commencement ceremonies is free of charge.

Request for Waiver of Last 10 Hours
The Final 10 semester credit hours must be completed at DMACC, unless student has been granted an exception by the Registrar’s Office. Requests for a Waiver of the Last 10 Hours must be submitted prior to taking the courses to be transferred to DMACC. Download the Request for Waiver form.
