Schedule of China Year Events:
The Culture of the Dragon

Des Moines Area Community College, Iowa
(September 2000 -- May 2001)

GOALS: The China Year celebration aims at educating DMACC students, faculty, and staff about the differences between the Chinese culture and the American culture. The celebration helps our students understand the diversity of cultures in the world by exposing them to the Chinese culture in the academic year 2000-2001. The celebration will extend our global education to the local communities.

RATIONALE: The China Year Committee has selected various aspects of the Chinese culture for our celebrations, stressing the importance of making the program both educational and interesting to the audience.

THEMES: Chinese Art, Music and Chinese Literature, Chinese History and Civilization, Modern Chinese Society, and Tai-Chi.

*** 1. Time and dates of presentations are subject to change.
      2. For more details of China Year events, please visit "www.dmacc.org/instructors/wwzhang."
