DMACC Student Elected Iowa FFA Association President
Posted 4/18/08

A Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Agribusiness student has been elected president of the Iowa FFA Association.

Daniel P. Hansen of Elkhorn-Kimballton was elected president of the 12,000 member organization at the 80th Annual Leadership Conference recently held in Ames.  Hansen’s term will run until April, 2009.

Hansen is enrolled in DMACC’s Agribusiness program and will be transferring to Iowa State University in the fall.  He has been an active member of the Agribusiness Club and the Postsecondary Agriculture Students (PAS) organization.

In what is believed to be a first, DMACC can boast that it currently has not only the state president for the Iowa FFA, but also the state president for the Iowa Postsecondary Agriculture Students (PAS) organization.  First year DMACC Agribusiness student Calvin Pudenz of Carroll will hold the title of state president for the Iowa PAS organization through the culmination of the state conference to be held on the DMACC Ankeny Campus next February, 2009.
