The Finder is the program on your computer that displays the contents of the hard disks, CDs, DVDs, and servers that are connected to or available from your computer.

Close, Minimize, and Zoom Buttons
The three round buttons in the upper-left corner of a Finder window let you:
- Close the window (left button)
- Minimize or reduce the window to an icon in the Dock (middle button)
- Enlarge the window to fill the entire screen (right button)

Toolbar
The toolbar across the top of a Finder window has buttons and other items that help you find things on your computer. You can customize the toolbar so that it has just the items in it that you need.

Sidebar
The left column of the Finder window shows all available disks, servers, and your favorite folders.
You can add your favorite folders to the Sidebar by dragging them to the lower section. This provides access to current projects and makes it easy to move or copy files to your project folders.
