Bill Easter

It is hard to talk about Chef Bill Easter without including food services or culinary arts at Des Moines Area Community College in the discussion. Since Chef Easter stepped onto DMACC’s campus for his first culinary class, his relationship with the College has been going on for years. An honors graduate of the DMACC Culinary Arts program, Chef Bill Easter was an adjunct baking instructor for the Culinary Arts program before becoming a full-time instructor in 2004. For 10 years prior to that, Chef Easter was chef for DMACC Conference Services. He’s also been a member of the Hospitality Careers Program Advisory Board since 2000.

In addition to his work as a culinary educator, Chef Easter has held positions in The Bavarian Haus Restaurant in Des Moines and as sous chef at Hyperion Field Club in Johnston, Iowa. He also received bakery production experience through an internship at the Younkers Production Bakery and has handled culinary product research and development for a local food manufacturer.

In Summer 2005, Chef Easter added international culinary cuisine experience to his resume when he completed an internship in France, working with various chefs in a number of establishments.
