Mortuary Science Program

On-Campus Program Option

The DMACC Mortuary Science Program on-campus option utilizes a combination of traditional classes taught on campus, classes taught at local funeral homes, and courses taught online. This blended approach is an effort to minimize the number of trips a student may need to make onto campus, and allow for more work time and less commute time.

Since there are a number of notes to be provided to the student, every class (except the clinicals) has an online component. Some courses are fully online, some are on campus each week - and provide notes and assignments online, and some (blended courses) use a combination of online and on-campus – allowing the student to meet every other week.

During the semester, full-time students will be enrolled in online, on-campus, and blended courses. The online courses are primarily definitions, while the on-campus courses seek to provide practical, hands-on projects, discussions, and reviews of online courses.
