Your Student Activities Council

As the primary student representative body, the Student Activities Council (SAC) promotes college spirit, provides a focal point for discussions between students and the college staff, and gives students a voice in college affairs. This governmental body is responsible for the assessment and disbursement of student activity fees. With these funds, the Council plans a variety of activities and offers a wide-range of services designed to enhance campus life.

As a member of the council, you’ll be at “the hub” of activities at Des Moines Area Community College. Involvement with the Council will provide you the opportunity to gain skills applicable to future career positions such as hands-on experience in leadership, team-building, goal setting, communicating to get result, budget management, and time management. Attending local, state, and national conferences enhances these experiences. Getting involved is simple. Just contact your Student Activities Office, Room 128 on the Urban Campus. We actively seek students interested in leadership development, activities planning, and campus life. Contact us today.
