The DMACC Telecommunication Program has partnered with a number of technology-solution providers who rank among the best in their respective areas of expertise. Through these partnerships, DMACC is able to provide not only the latest in technology, but also is able to stay current and even ahead of the rapid changes occurring everyday in this field.

The Telecommunications program would like to thank the following companies for there continued support and expertise.

Paetec

The ITA supports DMACC West Campus Telecommunications in many ways.

Each year, students are asked to attend the ITA industry expo, ITA member companies throughout the state hire and recruit from our program and ITA companies offer many internships to our students during the summer months.

NexGen is a supporter of our technical lab equipment and they help provide DMACC West Campus with ATM tech support and assistance.

PAETEC has been a large contributor of equipment and time in helping build new network and classes. Much of the laboratory equipment was donated by PAETEC.
 

Sun Microsystems

The technical experts at INS have long helped the DMACC West Campus telecom program with their great advisory and skilled advice. INS switch techs are often called upon and help with hands on activities and troubleshooting of our resident Nortel DMS10 switch network.

By recruiting from our graduates, and helping fund the new technology labs for telecommunications, Iowa Telecom is an integral partner.

As an “ACE” partner as well, the dedicated staff at Iowa Telecom serve on both the advisory council for the Telecom program as well as first level interviewing and recruiting from our graduates.
 
JDSU
Taqua

Providing the most advanced telecom test sets in the world, JDSU leads the way in helping DMACC West Campus. Students are allowed to work with and use advanced test gear to help isolate network troubles.

Taqua provides the West Campus with state of the art “softswitching” technology.

The Taqua partnership also provides a regional training center for Taqua and Iowa telecom industry professionals. Students are trained on next generation switching equipment that is in high demand for the current telecom market.

Through a shared vision of education, Nortel has helped dmacc with newer software upgrades to our carrier class switches. Nortels contributions help students access and use the latest in switching software and work with residential and business features.

 
Seabury & Smith

Through a partnership with CISCO, Vital has helped in the building and development of the telecom laboratory LAN and VOIP platforms. This cutting edge technology is introduced to students as they progress through the program.

The highly qualified staff at CISCO have helped our telecom lab spaces by helping to provide technical and engineering support utilizing various Cisco products. Students are exposed to Cisco routers and switches and how to make them function and communicate.

Through a generous donation to the college, Aethera has helped bring SONET and high tech laser transport to our lab areas. Students will be accessing and learning the various programming and hardware setups for this optical equipment.
 
Tellabs

CES is a sponsor and supporter of the telecom program by providing access to high tech telecom testing equipment.

As a manufacturers representative, CES provides our students a multitude of different, telecom specific test applications for use in our West campus labs.

The SubSurface Solutions company based in Omaha Nebraska has provided the latest in underground cable locating equipment to the DMACC West Campus Telecom department.

SubSurface also provides student training on the latest in OSP testing technologies.

Tellabs has provided our labs with advanced fiber optic technology that is used throughout the communications world.
 

Palisade Systems provides the DMACC West campus with patented technology for Internet reporting and network security.

Palisade also uses the DMACC West Telecom labs for training their customers as well as DMACC student training.

Open Technologies

The Falcon company has donated a new , Class 5 carrier voice switch to our program and often are sought out for technical and engineering assistance with our new technology labs. The Falcon lab is our third exchange location, located in our upstairs telecom lab.
