Do you want to learn to build and design modern communication networks? Do you like to use the internet, cell phones, and streaming video and wonder how these technologies work? Then you would like a career in Telecommunications.

Telecommunications at the West Campus

Modern telecommunication networks carry our voice, video and data traffic across town and across the world! An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Telecommunications Technology will prepare you to work and configure these modern, high tech networks. From training in Wi-Fi, Voice and Data switching, Laser Fiber Optics, Voice over IP (VoIP) and many more, the DMACC Telecommunications program offers a world of variety.

Careers are on the rise and students are finding exciting opportunities with Telecom companies as well as many large land local non-telecom companies. Iowa has more than 150 Telecom companies…more than any other state in the nation!

Telecommunications Technology is a fall start, full-time day program.

 

Telecommunications Certificate Program

This is a fast-track “certificate only” program that prepares students to hit the workforce after 9 months of training. The coursework is focused on careers involving outside telecommunication jobs and includes topics such as residential communication repair and installation. Working aloft and pole climbing are also required for the students in this certificate program. This is a two semester, fall start day program.

Applications need to be made for the Telecommunications Technology program.
